The Accelerator Frequently Asked Questions
How fast can The Accelerator be painted?
You can spray paint it immediately. If you're brushing or rolling instead, wait 30 minutes first. It's built specifically to prevent paint film cracking.
What joint size is The Accelerator rated for?
Up to 1/2" in properly designed joints — it's built for trim and moulding work, not the wider structural joints AU-1 and Tower Tech² handle.
How long until The Accelerator fully cures?
Tack-free time is 30 minutes, and full cure is reached in 7–14 days.
What substrates does The Accelerator bond to?
Masonry, ceramic tile, wood, concrete, brick, and metal.
What temperature can The Accelerator be applied in?
Apply when sealant, surface, and air temperature are above 40°F and rising, with air no hotter than 95°F and substrate no hotter than 140°F. Don't apply when rain is expected.
What warranty does The Accelerator come with?
A 50-year guarantee. If the product cracks, peels, or separates within 50 years of installation after proper storage and application, Tower Sealants will replace it when the purchaser returns proof of purchase.
What is The Accelerator typically used for?
Trim and finish carpentry work — windows, mouldings, doors, crown moulding, siding, and base board — rather than structural or expansion joints.
What's The Accelerator's service temperature range once cured?
-25°F to 180°F.
