Surfaces to be caulked must be dry and free of all dirt, dust, oil, mildew, loose paint, old caulk or other contaminates. Bare surfaces should be primed before caulking. Only apply when sealant, surface, and air temperature are above 40ºF and rising. Do not apply on surfaces that exceed 140ºF, or when rain is expected.

  1. Cut nozzle at a 45º angle. Cured bead should be between 1/8” and 2” wide. Use a foam backer rod for joints that exceed 1/2” in depth.
  2. Smooth bead with a moistened cloth.
  3. Clean up uncured material and tools with soap and water.
  4. Allow 4 to 6 hours before painting. Coverage: 55 linear feet for a 3/16” bead.

NOT INTENDED FOR AREAS THAT WILL BE SUBMERGED IN WATER. KEEP FROM FREEZING. NOT FOR FOOD CONTACT SURFACES.

Immediately after use, clean uncured material and tools with soap and water. Remove cured sealant by cutting with a sharp-edged tool.

Tower Tech² Frequently Asked Questions

Does Tower Tech² require a primer?

Bare surfaces should be primed before caulking. This is different from AU-1 and AU-1 Hybrid, which are generally non-priming — Tower Tech² is formulated for reliable adhesion on bare substrates only when primed first.

How long does Tower Tech² take to cure?

Tooling time is 15 minutes and tack-free time is 60 minutes. It's paintable after 4–6 hours, with full cure reached in 7–14 days.

What joint size and movement can Tower Tech² handle?

It's rated for joints up to 2" with proper joint design, and handles approximately ±25% dynamic joint movement (50% total).

What substrates does Tower Tech² bond to?

Masonry, wood, ceramic/porcelain tile, concrete, cement board, galvanized metal, aluminum, glass, and vinyl siding.

What temperature can Tower Tech² be applied in?

Apply only when sealant, surface, and air temperatures are above 40°F and rising, with air no hotter than 95°F and substrate no hotter than 140°F. Don't apply when rain is expected.

Is Tower Tech² paintable?

Yes — it can be painted after 4 to 6 hours, and the cured bead resists dirt pickup, yellowing, and shiners.

What warranty does Tower Tech² come with?

A lifetime warranty. If the product cracks, peels, or separates after proper storage and application, Tower Sealants will replace it when the purchaser returns proof of purchase.

What ASTM standards does Tower Tech² meet?

It exceeds ASTM C-920, Grade NS, Class 25 (Use M, G, A, O & NT); exceeds ASTM C-834, Type OP, Grade -18°C; exceeds Federal Spec TTS-00230C, Type II, Class A; and meets ASTM E84 Class A for flame spread and smoke developed index.

This TDS lists the company as “Tower Sealants, Inc.” — AU-1's TDS lists “Tower Sealants, LLC,” and the AU-1 LAB / AU-1 Hybrid sheets just say “Tower Sealants” with no suffix. Minor, but worth standardizing across your TDS library for NAP consistency (the same principle behind Step 13 in the playbook).
